THE OWNER & GROWER
BEHIND SATORI FARMS
Tori Armbrust, the owner of Satori Farms, is setting new benchmarks in Oregon’s emerging psilocybin market. With a decade of mushroom cultivation experience, a clear mission, and a deep passion for the craft, her grassroots company has found its footing in this transformative industry. Before the passage of Measure 109 in Oregon, Tori was a self-taught mushroom enthusiast.
“I spent years learning through trial and error, often feeling the sting of failure in cultivation. My passion for the process eventually blossomed into a well-rounded understanding of the craft. I noticed that many in the mycology community were discouraged by the challenges of getting started in cultivation. I saw a space in the community to provide simple, and accessible cultivation methods that required minimal equipment and money. This minimalist approach resonated with people and became my low tech crash course on cultivation. My excitement grew as I taught workshops and classes, and went to events and mycology camps all around Oregon. I got to connect with others in the community who have become some of my closest friends. I heard countless success stories and witnessed how mushrooms were profoundly impacting people’s lives.
Fast forward to 2023 when I took a leap of faith, investing my life savings to apply for a Psilocybin Manufacturer License. Hundreds of landlords turned me down but I managed to secured a commercial lease and embarked on the uncharted journey of navigating the government-regulated psilocybin licensing process.
Coming up on 2 years later and Satori Farms provides Psilocybin to nearly half of the Licensed Service Centers in Oregon. My goal has been to keep overhead as low as possible in order to offer accessible pricing and to be able to weather slower months. This has meant working in a very humble space with minimal equipment and tons of time and labor. I have no employees. From sourcing genetics, cleaning & growing to packaging, delivering and bookkeeping is handled by me. This has allowed me to continue dropping prices and to be able to provide Psilocybin donations to research, veteran and equity programs that will serve over 550 people throughout the year.
I believe that psilocybin holds the power to inspire transformation within the hearts and minds of those courageous enough to take the leap into the unknown, just as it has for me."
